Rule # 13-The Mentor

The Mentor by Arsh

Rule # 13

There are more fake gurus and false teachers in this world than the number of stars in the visible universe. Don’t confuse the power- driven, self-centred people with true mentors. A genuine spiritual master will not direct your attention to himself or herself and will not expect absolute obedience or utter admiration from you, but instead will help you to appreciate and admire your inner self. True mentors are as transparent as glass. They let the Light of God pass through them.

-The Forty Rules of Love

As it’s not very hard to find your soul, so similarly it’s for looking for a mentor. But a true mentor besides residing in your heart is hard to find as the world is full of the fake ones. But once you get that true mentor, it would be impossible to lose your destiny. The mentor never tells you to follow him but to be yourself and follow the heart’s way. That’s how transparent they are, pure and divine.

And when I ran

Towards the dark

I saw the rays

Escorting the shadows.

And when I sat

Besides the window

I saw the the light

Escorting my soul.

And this was when

I finally found

The true spirit,

a real Mentor!
